This unique sector-specific program which is the first of its kind in India focuses on the needs of appropriate education and training in the areas of Electrical and Electronics. The program of study has been carefully designed by experts and professionals in shipping practices. Yet another unique feature of this program is that the curriculum will be largely handled by industry faculty who are experienced professionals in this field. This program is designed to equip the students with adequate skill and knowledge in Electrical and Electronics in the ships.

| Entry Requirements: | A pass in B.E. (or) B. Tech in (Elect) / EEE and or Diploma (Elect)/ EEE with minimum 50% in final year & 50% in English in 10th or 12th STD or in the Degree Course conducted by the Board or any University. |
| Age: | Not less than 17½ & Not exceeding 26 years as on the date of commencement of training. |
| Medical Fitness: | Medically fit with eyesight 6/6, with or without external aids. Maximum power permitted (+) 2.5 No. colour blindness. All candidates have to pass complete medical examination and mendatory tests prior to joining at the Academy. SMA have panel of qualified Doctors and requirements as per ILO Convention 147 Seafarer’s Medical Examination. |
| Selection Procedure: | SMA undertakes an Aptitude test followed by a CET of D. G. Shipping. The final selection will only take place after medical check – up through our panel Doctor, approved by D. G. Shipping Govt. of India. |
